It’s NOT All in Your Head

It’s NOT All in Your Head

When Kate visited TLC Acupuncture & Natural Medicine, she explained that she had been suffering from fatigue and depression since giving birth to her second child five years earlier. Kate had gained weight and had had a hard time losing the weight. She experienced mood swings and a complete loss of any romantic desire. Her sleep was restless and she had brain fog.

She had a lifelong history of cold hands and feet, and sensitivity to the cold, which is tough in the mountains. Her body temperature always ran low. Kate was experiencing some hair loss, was constipated, and had severe muscle aches. Since her last pregnancy, Kate’s menstrual cycles had become irregular.

Kate had also experienced recurrent sinus infections and headaches for several years, for which she had taken many rounds of antibiotics. She complained of abdominal cramping and bloating associated with the ingestion of sugar, milk, and bread products, which she craved.

Kate had sought the care of numerous physicians who told her that her blood tests are normal. They diagnosed her as being depressed and prescribed her with anti-depressants, and anti-anxiety and sleep medications. She had been referred to TLC Acupuncture & Natural Medicine by a friend, while looking for a natural solution for her problems.

Kates name could easily be changed and replaced with the names of thousands of other people who have been diagnosed with thyroid issues, diabetes, or other autoimmune disorders. Kates doctor had made her feel like she was a hypochondriac and emotionally inadequate. I explained to her that her symptoms were very common and were caused by hypothyroidism, hormonal imbalance, nutritional deficiencies, and lack of essential vitamins and minerals.

Her hormonal imbalance triggered her allergy disorder, which in turn led to recurrent sinus infections. The antibiotics she had taken for her infections also killed normal bacteria in her body, leading to small intestinal bacteria overgrowth in her colon.

According to her biofeedback scan, I prescribed a thyroid supplement and placed her on a nutritional plan that included vitamins and minerals to heal her colon. Her allergies were addressed with acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine. Within a couple months, Kate’s fatigue, depression and other symptoms had disappeared and she was able to discontinue her antidepressants. She said I have not felt this good in years. Thank you for giving me my life back!

People should feel healthy, vibrant and strong throughout their lives. Maybe you have been told, is all in your head or learn to live with it.

My daughter did not feel well for two years. We tried eliminating different foods from her daily intake. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it did not. She would have good months and bad months. However, after about 1.5 years of trying to figure it out with our pediatricians help, something had to be done. She was waking up every morning between 4:45 and 5:30 with extreme stomach pain. We went to Childrens Hospital and they ran every single test imaginable. They told us she was fine. Clearly, she was not fine. So, we saw a nutritionist who took her off dairy, eggs, and gluten. This worked for seven weeks and then the stomach pains returned. I reached out to Tami to see her thoughts. She did a body scan and the results were astonishing. We could target the exact foods in her system, which were causing her pain: fruits and veggies she ate daily. Tami also helped her cleanse her body and allow her intestine to heal through a few different methods. It has almost been four months. My daughter feels amazing. She knows what she can eat and does not ever try to eat the same foods as her friends because they are like poison to her body. She looks great and has a ton of energy. In addition to being pain free, we are seeing some relief with her ADD symptoms as well. She used to get stuck and unable to move toward a solution for hours. We have seen her mature and use the strategies we taught her to overcome the sense of being so overwhelmed. Thank you, Tami. We have a new life!!!
