Radiant Mountain Massage fulfilled a longtime vision last fall. Our humble locally-owned healing studio opened a second Summit County location in November, bringing our full award-winning massage menu to Main Street, Breckenridge.
Carving out a sacred space along a history-saturated row like Main Street, Breck has invited a whole new level of intention and gratitude. Respect must be paid to the past while a watchful eye is kept on present energy.
A little research uncovered a disastrous fire in 1898 that burned down the entire 200 block of Main Street. The following year, three new homes were built, including our stunning victorian residence, now painted a happy sunshine shade of yellow. Beyond the typical Breckenridge miners cabin of the day, this two-story home boasts soaring high ceilings—a touch of elegance for dwellings at that time—and was valued around $800 at the brink of the twentieth century.
The striking victorian served as a residence until the 1970s when it became the first commercial business on that block of South Main Street. Today, the impressive architecture and charm shine through in original dark wood trim, cast iron, brick, and hints of original flooring. These elements all combine for a romantic and restorative foundation.
More and more research suggests that our surroundings contain therapeutic powers. A smart, thoughtfully designed sanctuary can decrease stress, raise our moods, and even boost immunity. As a holistic healing space on the second floor of the yellow victorian, our goal for Radiant Mountain Massage was to create a calming destination that appeals to all five senses.
We took a mindful approach, complementing the historic ambiance with simple décor throughout our treatment rooms. Deep soothing shades of purple, blue, and scarlet interplay with Himalayan salt lamps and ultra plush and silky linens, while calming music and gentle water sounds softly sing. A candle-lit stairway leads to a peaceful waiting area where courtesy herbal tea and water await. Luxury botanic bath and spa products by the Cottage Greenhouse, line our retail shop and massages are enhanced by an array of organic Plant Therapy essential oils.
Our intent behind this positive physical environment is to support the mind, body, and spirit in finding peace, rest, and vitality. We call on each of the senses to contribute to healing and invite you to incorporate regular massages and cathartic spaces into your wellness practice.
Yours in healing,
